Launching a New Group for Multisite Churches

Launching a New Group for Multisite Churches

In the fall of 2014, Leadership Network will be launching a new Leadership Community for multisite churches that are moving beyond 10 locations.  I get to direct this group, which will be called the Multisite Next Level Leadership Community.  So over the next several months I will be connecting with leaders around the country that have expanded or are expanding their multisite model beyond 10 geographic locations. This will be an exciting group to be a part of because the teams in the room will represent some of the true pioneers of the multisite movement.  Of the 5000+ churches in the United States that are now multisite, only a very small percentage, less than 1%, have taken the leap beyond 10 locations.  I anticipate some great learnings and innovations to emerge over the two years this group will be together. My online list of global megachurches and recent Advance article about them affirm that multisite is clearly a worldwide phenomenon. SIZE: The largest-attendance multisite church to participate reports over 50,000 in weekly worship attendance at all physical campuses combined. The smallest church that said it’s multisite has a combined total of 80 (it...

Microsoft Store Holiday Marketing Experience #Fail

Microsoft Store Holiday Marketing Experience #Fail

Microsoft tried its hand at an ‘exclusive’ holiday experience as pat of its 12 Days of Deals promotion.  They offered early bird and doorbuster pricing on the new Dell Venue 8 Pro both online and at their retail stores.  But rather than creating some positive momentum in the early holiday season for the struggling software giant, inconsistent information, website crashes, and lengthy hold times brought the ire of customers, undoing any goodwill that might have been created by the prospect of these VIP only deals. Check Out the Facebook Fallout Like many, I received the promotional emails about the event starting this week.  I have been contemplating a move from a primarily desktop-based home computing environment to a more mobile setup composed of tablets using the new Microsoft OS.  So the thought of getting to test drive a new Windows tablet with full 8.1 OS and MS Office suite for only $99 was intriguing.  With a store at the mall down the street, I thought I would give it...
