My Advocare Health and Wellness Challenge – Day 10
A Day of Blah
Today was a bit of a downer day. I felt a little wiped out, although nothing was significantly different in my routine. I wasn’t able to squeeze in a workout today, so it wasn’t that. And I miss bread. Just whole grain bread. But I miss it. I suppose that’s part of the ups and downs of establishing new habits, the roller coaster of giving up some things to take on new (better) ones. Old habits don’t die gracefully. So, rather than focusing on what I’m leaving behind, even if only temporarily (in the case of whole grains), we did a little digging into what we can replace them with. Today we had a little apple and raisin bake, with only a little organic honey and cinnamon to sweeten it up. It was greatness. Tomorrow night: open-faced ground turkey breast burger with sauteed peppers, onions, and avacado on lettuce.
Tonight marks the end of the ‘cleanse’ phase. On to 14 days of the ‘max’ phase. While the last 10 days have been about moving out all the junk my body has accumulated over the past several months, the next two weeks are focused on getting my new healthy lifestyle started off right by fueling my body with core nutrition, increasing my energy level, controlling appetite, and shedding unwanted pounds and inches. Sounds great, doesn’t it? I’m looking forward to it! The routine isn’t much different, just the substitution of cleansing supplements and fiber drinks for nutrient-rich ones.
