My Advocare Health and Wellness Challenge – Day 8

My Advocare Health and Wellness Challenge – Day 8

A Day of Greatness!

Today I felt incredible!  I don’t know if it had something to do with entering this last part of the cleanse phase, but my energy and focus have been high all day.  I even felt great during my lunchtime workout.  Maybe it was the fiber drink?

Nah!

Nothing different about the regimen:

  • Upon Waking: Spark, Fiber Drink (yum!), Meal Replacement Shake
  • Mid-morning Snack
  • (workout, preceeded by Catalyst)
  • Lunch
  • Optional Spark and Catalyst, followed by Mid-afternoon Snack
  • Dinner
  • Optional Evening Snack

More likely I’m sensing the results of several days of healthy living, results that are slowly overcoming the impact of some poor lifestyle choices of the months prior.  Regardless, it was a day of greatness.  I did not struggle with cravings today, even though nothing in my diet really changed.  For my afternoon snack I boiled some eggs (and stashed a few in the fridge for tomorrow).  That was a nice change.  We’ll be doing some shopping tomorrow, so I look forward to additional menu options.

I suppose that many things in life have a compound or cumulative effect.  Health and weight control certainly fit in here.  Like the tortoise and the hare, “slow and steady wins the race”.  Only two more days left of the cleanse phase, then we’re on to the “Max Nutrition” phase.  More on that in the days ahead.

A Question for You

Today’s experience got me thinking about other things in my life that are succeeding (or failing) because of impact over time.  For instance, after years of compounding failures (Read: lots of debt), our finances are strong and getting stronger due to the slow, steady intentionality we’ve lived by throughout the past several years.  We also enjoy healthy relationships with our kids, mainly because of the grace of God, but also because of bits of time and energy invested in them.  I could go on and on, but as the heading suggests, I have a question for you to reflect on:

Is there something in your life that needs an investment today so that you can experience a positive impact in the future?

If its finances, check out Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University.  In fact, find a group that you can learn and grow with!

If its your marriage and family relationships, check out Lakepointe Church’s Home Pointe site.

If its your health, check out Advocare and take the 24-Day Challenge.

Regardless of what it is, start making small investments today that will lead to an amazing impact over time.  And you never know, the positive changes you make in your life might just inspire someone else to invest in their own.
