My Advocare Health and Wellness Challenge – Days 13 & 14

Two Days of Not Much New (And That’s Good!)

Well, its the weekend.  That would usually spell “death to the diet” for me, but I’ve had absolutely no problem staying on track this weekend.  A BIG part of that is the fact that my wife and I are doing this together, and she is completely rockin’ the food prep.  I don’t know about you, but convenience plays a huge part in my ability to eat well.  Overall, the 24-day Challenge makes it pretty simple and convenient, but having a partner that is all over it by keeping the fridge stocked with easy to grab and go, healthy food has been a big part of my success.

So if there was a ‘moral’ for today, it would be: Don’t do this alone.  If you’re planning to make a change in your health or any area of your life, bring someone along.  Your chances of success will be greatly multiplied if you are on the journey with someone else.  And in doing so, you’ll help make a positive change in someone else’s life.

Over the past two days, I’ve simply felt great.  It seems like I keep saying that over and over (I do), but I think over time you don’t realize how bad you are feeling when you aren’t living a healthy lifestyle.  Now that my system is flushed and being filled with the right nutrients, I am reminded how good it feels to feel good.  And with the weather here being so nice today, I had to get out and test the legs on a long (for me) run.  I was able to put in 4.5 miles and, again, I felt great.

One Observation

I did have one quick observation over the past two days: my skin looks better.  I’ve always had complexion issues.  Our kids will be the unfortunate recipients of this.  Sorry kids.  But I’ve noticed the impact the cleanse has had on my skin.  During the first few days, as all the toxins were being flushed out, it wasn’t good.  Apparently it escapes anywhere it can, including through the skin.  So for the first few days I had a few issues with that.  But now, I notice positive impact this has had on my skin.  It makes sense, doesn’t it?  Having a healthy diet lead to a healthy body.  All of it.
