Praying for Your Children
I have noticed several friends using a 31-day calendar of prayers for children. It is a fantastic way to pray for the character of your kids to be shaped by God on a monthly basis. One thing that is really helpful for things like this is for reminders to come to me. I have the memory of a fruit fly (I used to say ‘goldfish’, but I learned that myth had been debunked by researchers), and for something to become habitual, no matter how much I want to form the habit, I must have some kind of reminder. So, I have begun entering these daily prayers into a calendar that anyone can subscribe to. Simply go to the Calendar and subscribe at the bottom of the page. One of the great things about subscribing to the calendar is that, as updates are made, they will automatically be reflected on your calendar.
If you want reminders (like me), I haven’t been able to figure out how to set those for the series of events. However, if you open one of the events in your calendar (at least in Google), you can add a reminder for one event and it will give you the option to apply it to the entire series. Then you will have pop ups, text alerts, or emails to prompt you each evening.
I will continue adding events over the next several days, but the first two weeks are in. Let me know if you run into any issues with this. And feel free to share this with others. I hope it will be a useful tool for parents (and grandparents, too) desiring to pray daily for their children!Image Credit: mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com
